Online Gossip

When I was growing up, there was a popular children’s game called “Telephone”. Maybe you remember it? Basically, you sat in a circle with your friends and a message was handed to the first person. That person then whispered the message to the next, and so on until the final message was relayed. By the time the message came to the last recepient, it represented, in no way, the original.

There’s a lot we adults can learn from this children’s game. “Whispered Messages” or gossip are passed without a second thought thru social media platforms. They spread like wildfire. Devastation and chaos ensues. People’s lives and reputations are often ruined.

The Bible tells us:

Matthew 12:36 KJV

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement.

A sobering thought…let’s watch our words.

Jesus is listening.
