"Think On These Things"

Having a challenging day? We all do. Our days as Christians are fraught with uphill battles. However, The Bible instructs us how to tame negative thought patterns which can hold us hostage.
In the Book of Philippians, we are told the ideals we ought to hold dear as followers of Christ. The list is lengthy, and gives us many options:
Philippians 4:8 KJV
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
By filling our minds with positive messages, we essentially block out the negative. As we strengthen our minds with encouraging verse as reminders, we lessen the influence of negativity in our lives:
2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
As negative thoughts arise…remember who you belong to…a loving Saviour who has promised to never leave, or forsake you. Let this truth strengthen you and allow you to overcome spiritual battles through steadfast faith.

I completely agree with this. I especially like the reminder from Philippians 4:8 that we can intentionally choose what we allow our minds to dwell on, especially when negativity starts creeping in. Thanks M. 🙏👊
