Today is April Fool’s Day. It is celebrated by all kinds of gags and horse-play. It’s good to be light-hearted sometimes. The world can be a depressing place these days
.
One thing we should never joke about though is God’s Truth. The truth that only comes from Jesus Christ. The truth as revealed in the Bible. The Holy Bible is not a tool for entertainment. Jesus Christ himself is not to be disrespected or misconstrued:
John 14:6 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh to unto the Father, but by me.
This is a serious vow. We don’t know the day or time Jesus Christ will return to judge the world. His atoning death on the Cross and subsequent resurrection is a serious matter. It should not be taken lightly by any of us.
Let me qualify what I am saying. This is not “hate speech”. Jesus Christ suffered greatly and was resurrected to show his love and forgiveness for all men. This is expressed clearly in the books of the New Testament. However, in the Book of Revelation, the last chapter of the Bible, we are told that Jesus will return to judge man for his actions. Therefore, we need to take responsibility for those actions , accept Christ and repent of our wrong doings. Are we perfect? No, we all sin. Christ, however, knows his own. It is told by us in the Bible that we do not know the timing of his arrival. Are we in “end-times” now? There are many occurrences happening which were foretold in the Book of Matthew:
Matthew 24:5-7 KJV
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nations shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places.
I guess what I am trying to say is to be watchful. Read your Bible, repent of sin, pray often. Encourage and uplift others. Spread the Gospel to unbelievers. Tell of Jesus’ love, but warn of unrepentant sin which leads to an ultimate separation from God in hell. I am not a biblical scholar… just stating biblical truth.
I know this is not an easy message to receive. There are many distractions, temptations and deceivers present in these times. Life is difficult for all of us. Be encouraged though, the Bible’s ending is clear. Jesus comes as conqueror and overcomes evil. There will be rejoicing in heaven. That we can be sure of…
